Player of the Week

Another bumper week for the Dean – In the six fixtures played, we recorded 5 victories including a clean sweep in the league and solid T20 wins over Burnham B in the Julian Cup and Cranbourne. The only glitch came on Sunday where a whole host of batsman performed below and beneath the call of duty!

There were some amazing performances.  Johnny Gay hit 80 runs for the threes, , Ben Millar a stoic 58 on Sunday and  (for once in his career) with the luck actually on his side, Mike Cutting smashed a terrific 100 again for the 3rdXI. With the cherry, there was a 5fer   for the Overseas superstar Godwil against Wokingham and Christian Austin was imperious with a blistering spell to take  5 against Yateley.  Tom Bibby also deserves a mention for his Boycottesque 47 which kept the 1stXI afloat in a low scoring match.

The winner this week however is “our kid” Jack Heald, who bludgeoned the Yateley bowling “all over the gaff” to score a magnificent century  and then followed it up with three wickets………………………move over Freddie Flintoff, there is a new,  new Botham in town !!
