Cookham Dean Cricket Club have two darts teams, who both play in Division 2 of the Maidenhead & District Darts League. All league and cup matches are played on Wednesday evenings throughout the winter, starting at 8.30pm. During the home matches, the bar is always open, so all club members are invited along to have a drink and watch the darts. If anyone is interested in playing for either team, you should contact either Fred Haines on 01628 522355 or Graham Cross on 01628 524399.
As you will know a new petanque playing area was created last year next to the clubhouse as part of the ongoing improvements which are taking place at CDCC. This new facility proved popular for casual play and we are looking to build on that during the coming summer by encouraging more members to play the game.
As the weather improves we will be holding one or two open evenings and Sunday mornings and during the season introducing a petanque ladder where players can challenge and play each other in friendly competition. The piste (playing area) will also be in use on Friday evenings and colts parents are encouraged to try it out.
The club team, the Cookham Dean Micros, plays during the summer in the Thames Valley Midweek League with matches taking place on Tuesday evenings. Due to retirements we are looking for new players to join the squad (no experience necessary as it is a straightforward game to pick up and coaching will be given).
We really want to make the most of this club facility and hope that members will come and play and also enjoy the social side of the game. More details will be circulated later regarding the above but anyone who would like to consider playing for the club in the league (and I say again, no experience is necessary) can give me a ring or drop me an email.
Hope to see lots of you on the piste.
