Match report Cookham Dean moved to the top of Division 3B thanks to a six wicket win over struggling NPL Teddington at Ricketts Field. NPL chose to bat first but Chris Nunn continued his outstanding start to the season with four wickets as NPL collapsed to 60-6. Gallifont (66) and Thomlinson (37) provided some dogged resistance to the Dean’s bowling however. Sav Gandesha eventually removed both batsmen though as he hovered up the tail with figures of 3-27 as NPL were bowled out for 156.
The visitors took the old ball and Cookham lost the in-form Jon Stewart and skipper Ben Millar early on in their run chase. Patrick Castleden (11) and Clive Lambden (18) were also unable to make substantial contributions to their side’s cause but this saw Tom Bibby and Tom Wells-Cole combine and they quickly settled any nerves that might have been creeping in to the Dean’s batting line-up. Bibby finished on 67 not out to make it three 50s in four league innings this season while Wells-Cole impressed again with 43 not out. This win saw Cookham Dean move eight points ahead of local rivals North Maidenhead 2s and the league’s pace-setters meet this weekend at Summerleaze in a game that could prove vital come the end of the season.
