Match report Cookham Dean 1st XI fell to a heavy defeat to a promotion rival as British Airways consolidated their grip on top spot at the weekend.

BA batted first and lost Bukhair and W Butt early on to Chris Nunn and Justin Rodgie. This brought O Khan to the crease and he, after surviving a loud caught behind appeal, set about taking the attack to Cookham. He received support from Ambrose (40), Y Butt (29) and F Khan (36 not out) as BA pushed their way up towards a formidable total. Aaron O'Donoghue claimed two wickets in the middle of the innings while Rodgie and Nunn each claimed another apiece too. Sav Gandesha took 1-65 with his off-spin as BA posted 239-7.

Cookham's run chase got off to a poor start as the top order fell cheaply with Raj claiming three of the first five wickets to fall. Jon Stewart (23) and Tom Bibby (18) had looked well set before being dismissed. Tom Wells-Cole stuck around for 21 and Justin Rodgie impressed with 35 and a draw began to look the most likely result. A late flurry of wickets however saw Cookham slump to 149 all out.
