Match report Cookham Dean 1st XI maintained their grip on 2nd spot in 3B of the Thames Valley League as another outstanding bowling display set them up for a comfortable seven wicket victory over Teddington Town.

Town won the toss and elected to bat but Chris Nunn's outstanding form continued as he removed the top three to leave the visitors rocking at 33-3. Aaron O'Donoghue picked up from where he left off against Tring Park two weeks previously with 3-24 while Sav Gandesha's delayed introduction saw him pick up 2-17. Justin Rodgie hoovered up the tail as Teddington Town limped to 126 all out in just under 49 overs.

Town were missing key bowler Warren May but Jon Stewart and Rory Millar departed early on, both falling victim to the away side's decision to take the old ball. Stand-in captain Tom Bibby and youngster Patrick Castleden combined in a crucial 99 run stand that took their side to within touching distance of victory and laid the ghosts of the infamous Tring Park batting collapse to rest for good. Bibby fell for 39 with ten still needed for victory while Castleden finished on 60 not out.

The Dean now hold a 16 point cushion ahead of 3rd placed Wokingham 2s and travel to bottom side NPL Teddington on Saturday.
