Match report Cookham Dean 2nd XI played out an entertaining draw away to league pace-setters Farnham Royal 2s Saturday afternoon. Skipper Jake Richardson won the toss and chose to bowl on a flat looking wicket. Richard Bibby's form as an away day specialist continued with two early wickets but after that Farnham Royal's Ian Pulsford got going despite suffering from a leg injury. He was well supported by Shave (31) and Southwart (26) as he struck 108 before becoming one of two victims to Andy Pett. Jayson McAlpine and Christian Austin also picked up a wicket each as Farnham Royal posted 233 for 6.

Cookham's reply got off to a decent start with Dave Brooks (32) and Arun Brar (30) sharing another 50+ stand. Unfortunately though, no-one could kick on for Cookham and they were always behind the rate, making victory unlikely. Some lusty blows from McAlpine and Pett took The Dean past 200 and a potential victory charge looked briefly on. McAlpine was bowled by Nicholas for 29, however, and they instead had to block the last couple of overs out for a draw.
