Match report Cookham Dean 2nd XI piled on the runs but could only muster a very creditable draw against Datchet 2nds. Cookham Dean won the toss and skipper Jake Richardson was delighted to bat first with the Ricketts Field wicket looking particuarly flat. He and Arun Brar set about the Datchet bowling with aggression putting on 170 for the first wicket. Brar was debunking those who have likened his batting to a 'wheely bin' as he passed his half-century before his captain. Richardson went from 50 to 96 in no time though before he was bowled by White. Simon D'Ardenne followed in similar fashion for 3 before Andrew Pett joined Brar at the crease. Brar also failed to make his century as he was caught for 90. Pett was run out for 28 while Darren Davies made a useful 30 not out as Cookham finished on 275 for 5.

On a flat wicket, taking 10 wickets also looked likely to be difficult and so it proved. Richardson, having a rare bowl, claimed a wicket withe first ball of the new ball and Richard Bibby finally took his first wicket of the season at Ricketts Field after many had suggested he become an away day specialist. He and James Taylor took two each, Taylor removing top scorer Watson for 62, but Jackson stood firm for Datchet. Pett claimed a couple of wickets at the end but a Cookham win always looked unlikely as Datchet ended on 194 for 7.
