Match report Cookham Dean 2nds picked up a much needed victory away to Kew 3s on Saturday afternoon as a typically dogged innings from Arun Brar guided them to a six wicket victory.

Kew batted first and were quickly in trouble as Richard Bibby had Winslade caught and bowled for 0. The middle order all made starts before they were removed by a couple of wickets each for James Taylor and Will McCreery. The key wicket of Bishop fell to Taylor off a half tracker that the batsman somehow managed to miss! Bibby returned to the attack to pick up the final three wickets, all clean bowled, as he finished off with figures of 4-39.

Cookham Dean lost Dave Brooks and Jake Richardson early on but Brar and Simon D'Ardenne combined well to push the Dean towards victory. D'Ardenne was playing aggressively and finding the boundaries well before he fell for 43. Brar wasn't playing so fluently but stuck around and managed to bring up a half-century after striking his first boundary in the 29th over. Andrew Pett provided decent support with 31 before being dismissed just before the end as Cookham picked up a useful 20 point win.
