Match report A typically classy 86 not out from Club Captain Tom Bibbby ultimately guided Cookham Dean's Sunday XI to a comfortable five wicket victory against RNVR.

On a blustery day at Ricketts Field, stand-in skipper Mike Cutting lost the toss and RNVR unsurprisingly opted to bat on a decent looking wicket. They hadn't banked on a firey opening spell from Christian Austin however whose pace and accuracy helped saw him claim three wickets and with the help of Mark Jones reduce the visitors to 44 for 4. Seth Munn picked up an lbw with his first ball and took a fine caught and bowled to break a furstrating partnership as Cookham looked set to skittle their visitors cheaply.

RNVR's skipper, Ford, along with Haywood looked to guide their side towards a respectable total however though as they shared a steady partnership of 80. Tom Bibby eventually bowled Haywood for 23 though and two further wickets fell in quick succession. A declaration seemed imminent but Ford soldiered on in guiding his side to 195-9, finishing on 69 not out himself.

Simon D'Ardenne fell early on for 8 but Bibby, after surviving a dropped catch at slip, combined well with Cutting (31) who was hitting the ball down the ground powerfully. Michael James also provided an entertaining cameo striking five 4s in his 20. Munn provided useful support to Bibby who was pulling through the leg side and driving into the off side well and it was left to he and Christian Austin (18 not out) to finish the job off for the home side with around eight overs spare.
