Match report Cookham Sunday 1sts were on a the receiving end of a heavy defeat at Eversley but put up a decent fist of an improbable run-chase.

In the sweltering heat, Rory Millar lost the toss and unsurprisingly were asked to field, much to the delight of his charges, some of whom who were hungover after a big night at Cookham Dean the night before. Mark Jones and Isaac Richardson each picked an early wicket each but after that carnage ensued as the Eversley bats took advantage of a flat wicket and fast scoring ground. Edwards smashed 67, Davidson 113 not out and Green 67 not out as Eversley posted 290-4. Alex Sunasky was the only other successful bowler with 2-43.

Patrick Castleden and Rory Millar made a fine start to the innings with a century opening stand. Castleden in typically aggressive mode striking three 6s in an innings of 67. Millar shook off any doubts about his form with 57. Both eventually fell victim to Eversley's Australian import Blair Lindsay. Jake Richardson joined in the fun with 67 of his own as the home side's attacking fields kept the game enjoyable for both sides. Cookham eventually finished on 244 for 5, well short of victory but a decent effort nonetheless.
