Match report Cookham Dean won their first game of the league season, with a 4-wicket victory against Bagshot 2s. Bagshot batted first, and their openers put on a good partnership in difficult conditions. However, at 38-0 after 24 overs, they had to increase the run-rate, and in doing this, they started to regularly lose wickets, with Tom Rosenthal (3-42) and Pres Patel (2-52) bowling well. No. 3 batted well, reaching his fifty in the final over and Bagshot finished on 177-7 in their 52 overs. In reply, Dave Brookes (37) and Ben Millar (33) started comfortably and Dean looked to be cruising. Although, after the introduction of (leg spinner), Cookham collapsed from 70-0 to 81-4, and were struggling. This brought Clive Lambden (42 not out) to the crease, where he joined Rory Millar (25), and the two batted sensibly, and took the Dean to within touching distance of victory. Millar fell with 24 needed, however with Lambden remaining at the crease to the end, Cookham ran out worthy winners with 6 wickets and 3 overs to spare.
