Match report Cookham were crushed by league pace-setters Ruislip at Ricketts Field, slumping to their second successive defeat. After winning the toss and choosing to bat on a green-top, Cookham’s innings got off to the worst possible start as league debutant Patrick Castleden, Simon McCallion and Andy Murdoch all fell for ducks, leaving the score at 0-3! Paul Farnborough and Amit Patel looked to rebuild the innings but both fell for 18. The Cookham innings continued to subside with Andy Pett and Mark Fish the only other players to make double figures. The home side were eventually bowled out for 83 with Woonsam and Jansen the pick of the Ruislip bowlers.
Ruislip made heavy work of the run chase but with such a feeble total posted by Cookham, their march towards victory was never seriously halted. There were wickets for Patel and Pett but Ruislip eventually cruised home by 7 wickets, taking them to the top and dumping Cookham to the bottom of the league.
