Match report Cookham Dean Sunday 1sts lost 14 runs at Hillingdon Manor on Sunday afternoon. The home side batted first on a difficult wicket and the Dean made early inroads as skipper Mike Cutting (3-16) cut through the top order. A. Akram however took charge of the innings and began to dominate the Dean attack and guide his side towards a respectable score. He was eventually dismissed by Seth Munn (2-7) but not before he had struck 103. Hillingdon finished their 40 overs with a competitive total of 187 for 6.
Dave Brooks was dismissed early on but Saturday 1st team skipper Pres Patel was joined at the crease by Tom Bibby. They shared a decent partnership before Patel was given out lbw for 23. Sources suggest that Patel was not happy with this decision. Tom Bibby continued to bat well however and he soon brought up his 50 and guided his side towards a possible victory. Rob Sage also made a useful 32. With the required run-rate increasing, wickets began to fall quickly and when Bibby was dismissed for 86 the chances of an away victory looked slim. Cookham were eventually bowled out for 173 with none of the bottom seven in the order making double figures.
