Match report Cookham Dean 2nds had a fine win on Sunday against a strong British Airways side at the Concorde Centre. Batting first on a slow wicket against accurate bowling, the Cookham innings was held together by disciplined knocks from Rory Millar (56) and Chris Kelloway (59 not out). Jake Richardson (14), Andy Millar (13) and Richard Bibby (15 not out) added some impetus along the way to help the Dean to a par score of 184.

When BA batted, there were early successes for Richard Bibby and Paul Taylor with some hostile bowling on a pitch freshened by rain during the tea interval. After a further break for another heavy shower, Taylor produced a ball which was too good for Iqbal (28) before Jake Richardson (3-42) ripped through the middle order with a venomous spell of fast bowling. Sheikh (78) continued however with a classy innings and in partnership with Ali (20) looked to be seeing BA to victory before Rory and Andy Millar, bowling in tandem, managed to break through for victory with the help of a fine catch and run out by Richard Bibby. A tense game of cricket ended in semi-darkness with the Dean running out as winners by 12 runs.
