Midweek Twenty20 XI
Captain :
James Taylor
Medium pace stalwart bowler has had a successful first two seasons at CDCC in the 2nd XI and as many other games as he can manage. Especially loves Maidenhead and Bray where he snared a total of 12 wickets in two matches..........apparently he is not invited to their end of season party.
Known as "the cackle" due to his belly laugh and has picked up where he left off in 2012 by taking two hat-tricks in two days and completed passed 100 wickets for the club in only two seasons (a feat not seen since the Mickey Nunn era). Is now the proud Captain of the 1st XI Sunday team and intends to bat and bowl when he wants!
Hit his first 50 to slam the batting critics against the lethal bowling attack of marlow 3rd XI.

Players
Christian Austin
A genuine character, Christian is one of the longest serving members of the first team and is now the club's League Representative. He enjoyed a sensational 2007 season with the ball, leading to him winning the player's player award. Is also a good lower middle order batsman, and averaged around 40 in the promotion-winning 2006 season.
Tom Bibby
Tom is an ex-colts captain and two-time Colt of the Year winner. A versatile batsman and a genuinely good fielder, he is an established first-team player. Enjoyed his best ever season with the bat in 2008 and extended this prolific form into the 2009 and 2010 seasons striking around 1500 runs in each season. Offers variety to the attack with his leg-spin as a potential partnership breaker and in recent years has also started to keep wicket. Elected club captain at the 2008 players meeting.
Patrick Castleden
A young batsman with a bright future, Patrick has played regular
Sunday cricket since 2007 and made a number of appearances in the Saturday 2nds 6A League title campaign in 2009. Scored his first senior century at the age of 14 for the Sunday 2nds against Holyport. Made his Saturday 1st team debut in 2010 and played in the promotion winning side of 2011. Goes by the nickname of barbie.
Mark Covus
Mike Cutting
An outstanding clubman, Mike has fulfilled playing roles in all three league teams in recent years and captained the Sunday 1st XI from 2007-2009. His batting particuarly has improved in recent years, with a top score of 69 for the 3s in 2010. Also bowls medium pace and is the current Club Vice-Captain.
Sav Gandesha
The Ravi Bopara of the Thames Valley League, Sawan has played in the first team since 2005, and established himself as a top order batsman in 2006. He has scored hundreds against Hurley and Grayshott, and also bowls useful off-spin. Nephew of ex-first team player Bipin Patel, and the son of Raj Gandesha. Struggled with the bat in recent years but his bowling has become increasingly crucial, and he claimed a first TVL five wicket haul against Royal Ascot in 2009.
Jonathan Gay
Jonathan is generally a hard-hitting lower/middle order batsman but has been recently found some form as an opener in the 3rds. Leg-break bowler and current 3rd team captain. Also a long term stalwart of the Sunday 2nds and their current vice captain.
Tim Hipgrave
Tim returned to the club in 2007, mainly playing Sunday friendlies before starting to play regular league cricket for the 3s in 2010. He quickly became a key player, scoring quick runs at the top of the order and keeping wicket. Scored his first hundred against OMT 3s in a mammoth stand with Tom Wells-Cole.
Michael James
Bertie Kennedy
Bertie is a highly talented individual who is well known for his cavalier cameos later on in the innings. Also a useful medium pace bowler. He also lead the U15 to Julian Cup victory in 2009.
Clive Lambden
Clive is currently the longest serving member of the first team, and has been a consistent run scorer in recent years, topping the batting averages in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Also keeps wicket, and is known for his ridiculous and often irrelevant comments behind the stumps.
Jayson McAlpine
Rory Millar
Rory has been an established top-order 1st team batsmen for several seasons and topped the averages for the side in their recent promotion winning season to TVL Division 2a in 2011. No longer has the confidence to bowl after getting the yips, but he has developed into arguably the best fielder at Ricketts Field.
Andrew Murdoch
The Sunday sensation of 2007, Andy smashed his way to the top of the Sunday 2s batting averages after a number of quickfire 50s. The most memorable of these innings being an 80 not out against Holyport to guide his side to victory. Can also bowl useful medium pace and is a fine fielder. Made his Saturday 2nds debut against Marlow Park in 2008, scoring 30 not out. Scored a crucial unbeaten half century for the 2nds to guide them to victory over Kew that ultimately saw them avoid relegation.
Aaron O'Donoghue
A former Stokenchurch player who joined the Dean permanently in 2009 after playing some Sundays in 2008.
He bowls at a good pace and can also provide some useful runs down the lower order, making a fine start to his CDCC league career in the 2nd team in partnership with skipper Richard Bibby. He took a remarkable 8-36 to destroy the Aldershot 2s batting lineup in 2009. This spell of bowling led to 2nd XI stalwart Andy Pett calling him "The Terminator!"
Mark Powell
Mark joined the club in 2008 and proved a useful addition to the Sunday sides with his reliable batting and medium pace bowling. He ended the season on a high with a fine innings of 96 not out against Stoke Green.
Isaac Richardson
Isaac is a medium pace seam bowler who is younger brother of Jake Richardson. Came to the club in 2007 and has made regular appearances for both the Saturday 2's and 3's along with both Sunday teams since. A regular number 11 with the bat, although he thrives on any chances to be promoted up the order. Known for his sometimes humorous but often annoying and irrelevant 'banter' in the field.
Jake Richardson
Classy top order batsman who started the 2008 season in fine style with Cookham Dean's first ever Thames Valley League century with 100 against Marlow Park 2s. Brought to the club by Andrew Pett in 2005 and became a consistent run scorer in the 2nds before getting call ups to the 1st team in the early part of the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Has moved in between the 1st and 2nd XIs since but has been appointed 2nd XI Captain for 2011. Can also bowl at a decent pace but is often erratic.
Paul Taylor
Known as "The Power" Paul turns out for the Saturday 3rds and Sunday 2nds on a regular basis and tends to take the new ball with his lively pace bowling. Can also strike a few lusty blows low down the order. Memorable sixes have been struck at Freith and Penn Street in recent years. Has taken over the captaincy of the Sunday 2nds for 2011.
Tom Wells-Cole
Tom joined the club in 2008 and after doing well on Sundays Tom got a run in the 2nd XI towards the end of the 2009 season. Despite initially struggling for the 2s, two successive centuries for the 3rds in 2010 saw him regain his confidence and he has since established himself at the top of the order for the 2nds and later made his 1st XI debut in 2010. Also scored the first colts century for the u15's against Wargrave.
