League History

The club joined the Thames Valley Cricket League for the 2008 season having previously been in the Chilterns League since the early 1990s (prior to that the club had competed in the Berkshire League). Although we were not one of the strongest Chilterns League clubs at the time, we had an ambitious group of young players that were keen to test their abilities in a stronger league. The move has enabled the club to grow and attract higher quality players from the local area, as well as hold on to some of our more promising players who may otherwise have left.

The 1st XI clinched promotion from Division 4a at the first attempt under the captaincy of Pres Patel and subsequently have achieved two more under Ben Millar in 2011 and 2014 respectively. 2015 saw the 1st XI compete in Division 1 for the first and a remarkable final day saw them crowned champions of a very tight league. This means that the club will join Home Counties Premier League Division 2 for 2016.

The 2nd XI cruised to promotion from 6a in 2009 under Richard Bibby after a mid-table finish in their first season. Subsequently they have achieved another promotion with an exciting young side under Arun Brar in 2013 and enjoyed a 5th place finish in 4a in 2014.The 2nds have since gone on to establish themselves as a solid mid-table side at Level 4.

A 3rd XI joined the league in 2010, with Jonathan Gay setting up the team. The first couple of years were a struggle at times but gradually the side became stronger and established more of an identity. The 3rds secured back to back promotions in 2013 and 2014 so competed in 7b in 2015. After avoiding the drop on the last day of the 2015 season, the 3rds finished runners up in 2016 so played in 6a in 2017. Unfortunately the step up was too much for them and they were relegated after one season at that level.

Remarkably, the club set up a 4th XI that joined the league in 2016. The side was led by Dave Brooks with the aim of introducing young players to senior cricket. They finished 4th in their first season and in two seasons we have only failed to raise a side on one occasion.
