The club is committed to raising the profile of our girls section and providing good quality, dedicated girls only training sessions with accompanying matches. For 2024 we are pleased to announce Gabi Cowdery as our head girls coach who will be running the sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Gabi is a PE teacher and plays in our ladies team.
SEGMENT - PARTICIPATION
AGE GROUPS - Under 5 to U11s
TRAINING - Friday evenings at the club
Under 5 / Under 6 - Mini Cricket program - run through Thames Valley Cricket Academy (lead coach, Jon Stewart) on Friday afternoons from 3.50pm.
Under 7 - mixed girls and boys session - 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Under 9s and Under 11s- dedicated girls session - 5.45pm to 6.45pm
(Any proficient Under 11 girls will be invited to Under 13 hardball training on Wednesday evenings)
SEGMENT - DEVELOPMENT
AGE GROUPS - Under 13 and Under 15
TRAINING - Both U13 and U15 train on Wednesday evenings 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Lead coaches - Jon Stewart and Gabi Cowdery
High performing players will be invited to remain for the full ladies session (see below)
SEGMENT - PERFORMANCE
AGE GROUPS - Under 16 upwards
TRAINING - to attend full ladies team training on Wednesdays evenings, 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Lead coach - Jon Stewart
FRIDAY EVENING COACHING - All paid coaches, coach helpers on Friday evenings will either already have an ECB coaching qualification or need to have attended 2 x 2 hour "coach endorsement" program with Director of Cricket, Jon Stewart.
In this way we can ensure we continue to offer a high level of coaching whilst retaining our lovely Friday evening all inclusive atmosphere.
For high performing players, our Director of Cricket, Jon Stewart will discuss further development opportunities to the relevant parents. This can include, an invitation to a private Monday evening academy and representative cricket.
