Please see an important announcement regarding our Colts structure, pathway and training

Jon Stewart

Dear Member,

For those who don’t know me I was appointed as Director of Cricket at CDCC towards the end of last season. I am an ex county, England (schoolboys) and CDCC player. I’m a level 3 coach (pro-level) and as well as working for CDCC, I also act as a coaching consultant for the Berks youth teams.

Having had 2 children grow up and thrive through the CDCC colts structure, I am passionate about not only maintaining the lovely, participative nature of our colts set up but also to increase the level of coaching we provide and offer a clear pathway from our youngest players right the way through to our first teams. This relates to both boys and girls cricket and indeed from this season onwards there will be more of a focus on dedicated girls sessions and providing the right support to our girls and ladies teams.

For this season and beyond, I have slightly re-structured our colts section and divided it into 3 distinctive segments – PARTICIPATION – DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE. You can view more at this link here:

CDCC Colts Structure and Pathway - overview

Importantly, our coaches will be trained on providing the right level of coaching to the right segment, at the right time. As you will see all our coaching will be under-pinned by the set of principles in our “Code of CDCC”. This code was written with the help of our mens first team and will provide the basis for coaching and matches for ALL teams from U7s through to our senior teams.

We have a 2 pre-season training days over Easter where we’d love to see as many of our colts as possible (Under 7s to Under 13s) – see here for details:

COLTS PRE-SEASON EASTER TRAINING

VERY IMPORTANT - Whether your son / daughter is attending our pre-season training days or not, you will still need to register on our website for your annual membership. Also, shortly all future communication will come via our website (not email or WhatsApp) so if you are not registered you won’t receive this.

To register with us (and then pay for the Easter training days / membership fees) please follow the instructions below:

- Visit our website at www.cdcc.co.uk and click ‘JOIN’ then fill out the extremely short registration form
- If signing up as a parent, please follow instructions and first of all sign up with your own details, before adding your child’s details later
- We also highly recommend downloading the Pitchero app, at which point you will get regular notifications
- Then head to the SHOP section of site, and go to the MEMBERSHIP tab (or OTHER for the Easter Training Days).
- Once logged on, you can also manage your personal profile. We’d encourage everybody to upload a photo, as we’d love to get to a stage where we can showcase all the squads on our website with profile photos.

Thank you and here’s to a great summer of cricket at The Dean!

Kind Regards,

Jon Stewart
Director of Cricket at Cookham Dean CC
